The Dizon Ramos Museum was founded in 2007. It houses the political, economic and educational history of Bacolod City as seen through the eyes of the family of Raymundo L. Dizon and Hermelinda V. Ramos. It was conceptualized and established by their son Rolando R. Dizon, FSC, Ph.D.
The ground (first) floor houses an audiovisual exhibit that traces the history of Bacolod City from the Commonwealth Era (c. 1935.) to the present. A vivid pictorial exhibit features the political, economic and cultural highlights of the history of Bacolod City, with special emphasis on the dominant role played by the sugar industry of Negros Occidental. A parallel pictorial exhibit of the Dizon Ramos family history is integrated and juxtaposed with the principal exhibit. The centerpiece of the ground floor is the collection of documents and memorabilia from the Founding and Charter of bacolod City in 1938(?)
An e-library and data information center is housed in the ground floor. It contains a rich storehouse of information needed by would-be business investors, visitors and researchers.
The second floor features a contemporary lifestyle museum. Memorabilia and art collections of the Dizon Ramos family are displayed amidst the high ceilinged bedrooms, sala, dining room and study room. The exhibit portrays how four generations of the family actually lived from the building of the original house in 1950 up to the present.
Social arrangements can be made for guests wanting to stay for a short period in the museum.
